The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) in partnership with Holy Infant Academy (HIA) conducted a tree planting activity on July 23, 2016 in the 35 hectares beach forest of Barangay Gutad, Calapan City. This is in celebration of National Disaster Consciousness Month with the theme “Kahandaan at Pagtugon sa Sakuna, Tungkulin ng Bawat Isa”.
The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) in partnership with USAID B+WISER organized a learning event on LAWIN Forest and Biodiversity Protection System as part of the training program for the newly appointed and promoted employees of DENR Oriental Mindoro. Said activity was held last May 2-5, 2016 at PENRO Conference Room, Suqui, Calapan City.

Executive Order No. 192 mandates the DENR to be the primary government agency responsible for the conservation, management, development, and proper use of the country’s environment and natural resources, specifically forest and grazing lands, mineral resources, including those in reservation and watershed areas, and lands of the public domain, as well as the licensing and regulation of all natural resources as may be provided for by law in order to ensure equitable sharing of the benefits derived therefrom for the welfare of the present and future generations of Filipinos.
